I am a practicing Episcopalian, ever since I first stepped foot in the church, I felt at peace. I appreciated the Catholic atmosphere and the Episcopal Church's rich history. Perhaps it's my own ancestral ties to the history of the United States drawing me to the Episcopal Church.
It has come to my attention that our current Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is going to step down and the Church is electing his successor. Out of the current pick of candidates, I am finding myself really liking Bishop Daniel Gutiérrez, I like his Catholic background and he seems to be very fond of incorporating elements of Catholicism into the Episcopal Church, and bringing us in touch with our Catholic roots.
He also represents the fusion of Hispanic and Anglo heritage that makes America unique. This uniqueness being embraced and fostered will be one of the first steps to our thriving as a Civilization. Civilizations, as they say, are best reflected by their faith.
